College

The first day at college, I went to Rufford Park as a team building day. I couldn't do the activities because the rest of the class was able bodied. So I went around the gardens with Lisa and Cath (learning support assisstants).

Every Thursday, college had an enrichment day where the student could pick what they wanted to do. I chose to do hair and beauty.

I had a different LSA everyday.

On the first proper day of college, I had maths. were given was supposed to last us all morning. I finished in less than an hour bearing in mind that maths is not my strongest point.

After the first day I asked if I could changed courses because it wasn't for me. I needed something that streched me. PRI (the people who make my talker), asked me to try out a language for them. I said yes.

I went to the collage ball, with Sam.

I asked if I could change courses, they said we will intogreat you showley, I said I have done a GCSE so I know what its like. they said after half team we will let you go.

I was put in a admin class. I managed to catch up with all of the work. Then took a word production exam and passed it and passed 1 to 6 in NVQ in office administration.

I met another disabled girl called Natasha.

I used to go to her house every other weekend when Sam worked.

I had an interview for a course certificate of administration.

I had a few problems with one of the tutors, on the first day she said to my LSA Lynn, Maybe Dawn would like to go to a smaller group becase the students aren't accepting Dawn.

It was because she didn't want me in her class.

When I went to Communication Matters one year, there was a town meeting where the people who had talkers could take part in the topic if they wanted to.

For the person who took part the most got the chance to go to Pittsburg to to take part in the Employment confrence and PRI were paying for eveything. They offered me a part scalciship.

I did a talk about my experiences in my life.

I was involed in a project to find out what the difference between mainstream and speacial school education. I was intevewed twice. It was called the Rite Project.

They asked to give a paper on their findinds at Unversity of Glamorgan.

I did 2 talks at Unversity of Leicester.

I did 8 talks in 2 days at Beaumont Collgae for staff training.

Sam left me to have a baby, she wanted to look after it. When the baby was born it was a boy. She called him Joshua.

My back was really hurting me, when I went back to saw Mr Freeman in clinic, I saw one is his fellows, I was in a lot of pain. He said there is a injection which is called a Facet Joint Injection which is a mixture of local anaesthetic and steroid.

I had to go into theatre, they put me out becase you have to be very still, after I woke up and the pain was gone.

6 weeks later went back to the clinic, saw Mr Freaman. He said can I have a look at your back. I lent forward he went from the top all the way down to the bottom and then press it so hard I jumed out of my skin. He asked me if it hurt. I nodded my head.

From that day on I was in constant pain, I had to take more painkillers.

Once the tutor saw that I worked hard in her lessons, she helped me.

I passed all the units in the certificate of Administration. The subject that I had the problem with I passed her unit with a credit.

I did a IT course, there was 3 levels, The tutor, Geoff thought it would take me all year to do the first level. It took until January. He wouldn't put me on the next leavl because he said I would finish it in time. They were going to changed the syllabus the following September.

I went back to the clinc to see about my back and saw another of Mr Freeman's fellows, again I explained how my back was and what Mr Freeman had done last time. She said one of you rods is farced. She said I will send you to have another Facet Joint Injection.

One day, when he was off, I got 2 other tutors to put me on the next leavl. When he came back he notice that I was doing the next leavl.

If I had done what he wanted I would of had to have 9 months off and I wasted all that tine.

I was happily doing the units, then he put them on the board and I notice that there was a lot more than I thought.

I had to some work at home so that I could fit it in. Dad noticed that some of it was certifiicate and some of it diploma. So that ment he had been mixing my work to say I told you that wouldn't finish it in time.

I finished all the work for both leavls on the last day of tearm.

He said to me what are you going to do next year. I knew that they did a web design course. So I asked about it and said that I wouldn't be able to do it.

The head of the LSAs tried to sort out another course but nothing was wanted to do, so I left.

Anthony had left Mandy.

When I was 21, Anthony came over for my birthday. He came over on the Friday as my birthday on the Sunday.

Anthony and Peter went out into Nottingham clubbing. Anthony pulled a girl called Nattle.

On my birthday, lots of people came to see me. In the eveing, us 5 and Sam, Dale. Simon's parents (Jane and Denis) and Louise, joined us for dinner. Simon had to go back to uni.

So we went to White Post pub for a meal. Sam bought me a braslet.

Anthony said to me do you a neckalase to go with your braselet. I said yes. We went eveywhere to get it.

We saw him every weekend.

Peter went to see a girl called Jenna, when he came back home he said I have felen in love with her.

Jenna came for May half term. I really got on with her very well.

Sam, our Golden Retriever snapped his cruciate so he had to have an opreation on it. After he had the opreation, he had to have k9 hydro thearpy to build back up his mussels in his leg. The couple that ran it were Amanda and Steve.

They bread Rottweilers, when they had a litter I wanted one but they were all taken. So I had to wait until the had another litter.

Amanda told us that she had another litter and would we like to look at them, I said yes. So we went round. I had every puppy on my knee, accopt one, I asked Amanda if I could have this one, she said yes but only if nobody else wanted him.

Every so often we would go up there so I could have a hold of him, I wanted him to get used to me.

One night, we went up there, one other puppies

was sitting on a over turned box, pawing with her paw, Peter fell in love with her and Mum fell in love with her too. We had to talk Dad round because he didn't want 4 dogs. We managed it. If Mum called her Lucy.

I called my puppy, Marco.

He was going to be a assistant dog.

Fountaindale wanted me to lead a communication group. So I did every week.

In Juily, me, Mum and Dad went to Tenerife for a holiday, we met Lin, Sam and her Mum Wendy. Lin invited us to go to the Mexican for her Uncal's bithday.

We went to the mexican, There were Lin, Wendy, Wendy's brother Garrth, Tri and Gary.

When Gary kissed me, I didn't know who he was so I asked Lin who he was, Lin said thats Gary.

Gary and Dad had to carry me upstairs between them.

The next night we to Senco, near to where Gary and Tri live to a chinese. After the meal, a cockroach flew in and went up my dress, they thought it was Lee that made me jumbed, they didn't see the cockroach until it was on wall. Gary thought it funny.

Then we went to Las Galletas, in Gary's car.

We went to the ice cream shop had a ice cream then went home.

On the last day, me, Mum and Dad went back to Las Galletas to meet them. Lin said to me the night before why don't your talker to show Gary because he is into computers. I sat the far end of the table so Gary moved to sit next to me. I said to him ask me a question, he asked what had been the best bit of your hoilday, I said meeting you. He gave me a kiss on the cheek.

Gary said I am going to do you a web site, your Dad said asked me to do one for you. He said I want you to tell me what you want on it.


He gave me his e-mail addresses and he said I'll give you 2 weeks to e-mail me, if you don't the deal is off, as a joke.
So I did and that how my web site started

Over a few months the web site took off. I told Gary what I wanted on my web site, by e-mail and talking on man. We went back to Tenerife in October for 2 weeks.

It was Mum's bithday, we went with Lin, Wendy and Sam to Chayofe whitch was a hotel with lots of pools. At night we went to the Mexican.

The last day, we went to Wendy's because we had to be out of apartment by 10 in the morning, we hadn't got anywhere to go.

When Lin came home she rang Gary and said I have got a young girl who wants to see you. He came up, I was over the moon.

Gary said why haven't you e-mailed me with a nane for a your web site, I said that I didn't know what to call it.

He said when you get back we will talk on msn.

After Christmas. Dad got a call from Geoff saying that he wanted me back in collage to do some re work. He said 6 weeks.

I went to the hospital for another injection in my back. That time it didn't work.

I told him that my friend, Gary has done me a web site for me. He said you should have done ir yourself, I said that I didn't know how to do it. He said learn how to.

When Goeff was marking my work he gave me a book of html which is the coding for web pages.

I did the work and asked again about the web design course, this time he said that I could do it.

When I stopped going to collage, I did not do a lot apart from go to Fountindale once a week to lead a communications group.

Everyday at some point I would talk to Gary.

One day, I was talking to Gary on msn and he said that his daughter Dannii was going to live with him.

That got me thinking, I started to wonder about my life and where it was going.
